The Town of Central is located in Pickens County, South Carolina, in the northwest corner of the state, positioned strategically midway between Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina. The area is known for its lusciousness natural landscapes with nearby proximity to the upstate's most vibrant areas including Downtown Greenville, Clemson University, Lake Keowee, Lake Hartwell, Lake Jocassee, and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Central is home to approximately 5000 permanent residents as well as the students and faculty of Southern Wesleyan University, located in Central, and Clemson University and Tri-County Technical College, located nearby. Main Street Central is a small but charming retail district in the center of town that offers a variety of local shops, restaurants, and events.
